Still waiting…

I’m still waiting to hear about my acceptance into the iPhone developers program, so until then my thoughts are with other projects.

I’ve been digging deeper into Cocoa development and should hopefully have a fairly useful application to show for it in a few weeks – I’m targeting a somewhat specific audience – me.  It’s a tool that I missed reviewing shots remotely during a recent project and I imagine a lot of other folks who spend time looking at images, moving or static, would find useful.  More details soon…

My website has had a slight update, the structure of the site is the same but I thought it needed to be a little more fun.  My good buddy Bryan pointed out that it had a similar tone to Jeff Bridges site which stole a good hour of my time after a quick google.  Very cool!

My Canon HF10 is getting some exercise, I shot a 2 year birthday with it a few weeks ago and had a lot of fun working in ‘documentary’ mode – the image stabilization is impressive as I was able to be at full Tele and still shoot fairly stable hand held shots.  It makes it much easier to stand back and catch those special moments.  I purchased VoltaicHD ( Mac version, of course ) from the Shed Worx guys and highly recommend it for anyone dealing with AVCHD video – even if you have FCP or similar.  I now make a straight backup of the AVCHD footage to an external drive, then process all the footage into much more usable Quicktime’s – this means that I know where the source lives ( vs. being pulled into an FCP cache ) and have the flexibility of handling the footage prior to editing.

Lastly, if you’re authouring a script, screenplay, novel or even comic check out Celtx – it’s an “Integrated Media Pre-Production” environment – which means you should download it, and use it.
