It looks like Rob Marshall’s new film, Nine, is an homage to Fellini’s 8 1/2 - complete with childhood flashback of voluptuous females.
Trailer here.

We travelled from Brindisi in Italy to Santorini via Athens in Greece. The journey took 40 hours with one night in a hostel and the other during a 15 hour ferry ride.
Although busy with tourists it was a beautiful place, gorgeous views and amazing architecture that made it easy to appreciate.
We were surprised as the affordability of accommodation compared to the rest of Europe ( Rome especially ) though, like anywhere else, you could spend a fair amount if you wanted.
We would have spent more time in Greece if we could, the food was amazing and the people extremely friendly - we’ll just have to make that a stop on our next adventure.

We sat outside the old pigeoniere sipping the local wine and enjoying the silence. The day was spent gardening on the grounds of an aged Chateau - fresh air and a clear blue sky punctuated by a civilized long lunch.
The mornings were met with the neighbour making the rounds in her tractor feeding the vines, and hikers leaving the village for a days hike through the rolling hills.
Our thoughts were miles away from work and the trappings of life - which is quite the opposite of now.
We’re settling into our new life in Sydney having found a great little terrace in Annandale to call home with car and cats sorted. We’ll miss New Zealand but excited to be back in a bigger city.

I’ve been poking through a lot of the photos I took while on our around the world backpacking tour and realized I haven’t done much with them. I figured it would be great fun to reminisce about the trip while sharing a little back story about specific photos on my blog.
This was taken in Mexico, in the town of San Miguel de Allende which is a 4 hour bus trip from the District Federal ( Mexico City ). Populated by many ex-pats from Canada, US and England - the town seemed to be missing a lot of the grit that we appreciated ( or came to appreciate ) in the rest of Mexico, but made for a great break for a few days.
Many of the local houses had large doors that opened onto picturesque courtyards where, due to the climate, much of the local daily life unfolds.
I got the impression that a good number of the ex-pats in town were either established artists or retirees, and happened upon a few exhibits where we met a rather eclectic mix of foreigners who seem to be thriving outside their usual culture in one way or another.
As with all of the photos from this trip, this was taken with my Nikon D50 and a Sigma 17-70mm f2.8-4 lens ( highly recommended! ).
